The Pittsburgh Steelers are not considering re-signing free-agent DE Brett Keisel at this point, but things could change if the team suffers an injury at the position. The Steelers were interested in re-signing Keisel earlier in the offseason, but he was not interested in signing for the veteran minimum.

Steelers | Remain interested in Brett Keisel

The Pittsburgh Steelers remain interested in bringing back free-agent DE Brett Keisel (Steelers), but only at a minimum contract for one year. The deal would include a $955,000 salary plus a $65,000 signing bonus, but would count just $635,000 against their cap in 2014 because of the veteran minimum salary benefit rule in the collective bargaining agreement.

Eric Metz, agent for Pittsburgh Steelers impending free-agent DE Brett Keisel, said the Steelers have not contacted him about a new deal for Keisel at this point. Metz said Keisel is preparing to play elsewhere next season but hopes to be able to finish his career with the Steelers.
