Tara Sullivan, of the Bergen Record, reports the New York Giants' offensive line, with Giants rookie OG David Diehl inserted in place of Giants OG Tam Hopkins at right guard, looked much better Friday, Aug. 15 against the Carolina Panthers than it did in the pre-season opener. The Giants line created bigger holes for Giants RB Tiki Barber and providing more protection for QB Kerry Collins.

Steve Popper, of the New York Times, reports the play of the New York Giants offensive line continues to concern Giants head coach Jim Fassel. Fassel said Monday, August 11 that he had no intention of moving OG Tam Hopkins and OT Ian Allen out of their spots on the right side of the line. "They've got the talent right now, but they've got to play better than they did in the first game," Fassel said. "They're the best guys we have. Until someone beats them out, they're going to stay there. They just have to improve."
