Updating a previous story, Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back) is expected to miss six to 10 weeks with a compression fracture of his L1 vertebra in his back. Per sources, Romo is not expected to need surgery. Head coach Jason Garrett refused to rule him out for the team's season opener against the New York Giants on Sept. 11 and did not confirm whether or not this injury is related to the transverse process injury the oft-injured quarterback suffered in 2014.
Fantasy Tip: The Cowboys drafted Ezekiel Elliott with an eye on keeping Romo upright, and he'll be asked to carry even more of the offense on his shoulders now because Dallas will turn to fellow rookie Dak Prescott, who has been one of the most pleasant surprises of the preseason. Romo should go undrafted in virtually all leagues that don't have an IR spot, while Prescott can be drafted as a high-upside (but low-end) QB2. Elliott should be the offensive focus even more now than he was expected to be and is a high-end RB1.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the Cowboys will not select a quarterback with their fourth overall pick in the NFL Draft. Head coach Jason Garrett has already said they would like to draft a quarterback, though, whenever that may be.
Fantasy Tip: Tony Romo is expected to make a full recovery from his broken clavicle and subsequent surgery this offseason, so it makes sense that Dallas passes on a quarterback with their first pick. If Romo is fully healthy before the regular season starts, he should be drafted as a fringe QB1.

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) and other veterans won't be shut down despite the team being eliminated from playoff contention, according to head coach Jason Garrett. "If guys are capable of playing, they're playing," Garrett said. "The objective is to win the game in Buffalo on Sunday. Anything else is secondary to that."
Fantasy Tip: Bryant ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) hasn't looked like the same player since returning from a broken foot, and the quarterback situation in Dallas isn't helping. At his current price, he is a huge gamble at FantasyScore.
