Harvey Fialkov, of the Miami Sun-Sentinel, reports it is believed Miami Dolphins head coach Nick Saban is looking to bolster the secondary, particularly because of the recent struggles of nickel CB Reggie Howard. The club had contacted free agent CB Terrell Buckley earlier this offseason, but have not made contact with him recently.

Jason Cole, of the Miami Herald, reports free agent CB Terrell Buckley (Jets) is staying in shape waiting for another opportunity with an NFL team. He said the New England Patriots recently contacted him. He helped the Patriots win the Super Bowl in 2001.

Jason Cole, of the Miami Herald, reports free agent CB Terrell Buckley (Jets) is staying in shape waiting for another opportunity with an NFL team. The Miami Dolphins haven't called despite a need for talent in the secondary. "I haven't heard anything from the Dolphins," said Buckley, who still lives in South Florida. The 14-year veteran is hoping to catch on with a team for another year or two before retiring for good. With Dolphins' nickel CB Reggie Howard continuing to struggle, there has been plenty of talk around the team about finding someone more experienced, such as Buckley or free agent CB Bobby Taylor (Seahawks).

Updating a previous story, Alex Marvez, of the Miami Sun-Sentinel, reports the Miami Dolphins are not believed to be actively pursuing any free agent cornerbacks in the wake of CB Will Poole (knee) suffering a knee injury during practice last week. As reported, two free agents that were mentioned as possible candidates included CBs Terrell Buckley (Jets) and Ty Law (Patriots).

Joe Schad, of the Palm Beach Post, reports free agent CB Terrell Buckley (Jets) said Monday, May 9 that he is trying to reach Miami Dolphins head coach Nick Saban to offer to play the 2005 season with the Dolphins. "I feel like I'm a Dolphin at heart," Buckley told Miami radio station 790-AM.
