Mills said, "His visit there [last week] went great and they're telling us he's better than both of the starters they have there now, but they're not saying that with their offer. It's a multiyear offer, but it's at backup rates."

"We've engaged in preliminary talks about numbers," said Ashworth's agent, Tom Mills. "They've submitted some numbers, and we've submitted some. I don't think we're really close. We're really just talking broad concepts more than anything else." Ashworth has also talked with the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets and Mills said three teams are interested in signing his client.
