He took limited reps Thursday, Aug. 3, as the team wants to work him into the mix slowly. He'll be competing for the team's No. 2 running back role.

Wed, 02 Aug 2006 14:29:22 -0700 Associated Press reports St. Louis Rams RB Moe Williams (knee) had two physicals with the team. The first one wasn't clear, so they brought him in for a second one and he was able to pass that physical. He is recovering from micro-fracture surgery on his right knee, which was performed in November last year. Head coach Scott Linehan said Williams feels good and they feel he will be a "great addition" to the Rams. Williams will compete with RB Tony Fisher for the No. 2 running back position. Williams also brings the ability to play on special teams, according to Linehan.

"It's not clear that he's retiring," Lock said. "That's not accurate at all." Williams will have to find an NFL team willing to sign him.
