D. Orlando Ledbetter, of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reports Atlanta Falcons PK Morten Andersen is seven points away from breaking the NFL's all-time scoring record. The current leader is former NFL PK Gary Anderson with 2,435 points.

The Associated Press reports Denver Broncos PK Jason Elam became the first NFL player to score 100 points in each of his first 13 seasons when he kicked an extra point in the third quarter of the team's Week 15 game. Elam is now one season short of matching the career record held by PKs Morten Andersen and Gary Anderson, who have 14 100-point seasons - but not consecutively.

Scott D. Jones, of AZCardinals.com, reports when Arizona Cardinals P Scott Player decides to retire from the league, it will mark the end of an era in the NFL. The pending retirement of PK Gary Anderson and last year's retirement of St. Louis Rams P Sean Landeta have left the Cardinal veteran as the lone remaining player to use the single (or one-bar) helmet. Player started wearing the "one-bar" when he joined the league in 1998 and doesn't apologize for his taste in equipment. "I got into a bad habit (with other mask styles) of holding the ball too high and it affected by kicks," Player said. "But with the 'one-bar', there's nothing blocking my vision, the ball or what's in front of me."

Jim Wyatt, of the Tennessean, reports after releasing PK Joe Nedney, the Tennessee Titans could look at bringing back 45-year old PK Gary Anderson. "Gary's experience down there has been so positive, it wouldn't take very much persuasion to get him to come back," said Anderson's agent, Don Mark. "He would be very interested in that. I don't think it would be a big stretch for Gary to come back again." The Titans have already worked out six kickers during the offseason.
