Fujita has been diagnosed with a narrowing of the spinal column and suffered nerve damage in his neck in October. "I'm not rushing into anything, but I think we all know I've had one neck surgery (13 years ago) and I'm potentially facing another one if things don't calm down in the next year or so," Fujita said.

Former NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue made his decision on the fines and suspensions, and found Fujita did not engage in "conduct detrimental to the league." Tagliabue's findings were that Fujita did not offer money for injuries or interfere with the league investigation. "I find the NFL's contentions lacking in merit," Tagliabue wrote.

The hearings were scheduled to occur Tuesday, Oct. 30, with Tagliabue in charge of the hearings but no reason was given for the postponement.
