Mike Chappell, of the Indianapolis Star, reports Indianapolis Colts WR Marc Boerigter's agent, Craig Domann, said the team signed Boerigter Wednesday, Aug. 23. Boerigter watched the afternoon practice Wednesday, in shorts and a T-shirt. His agent said he signed a one-year contract worth $500,000.

Eric Francis, of the Calgary Sun, reports the Indianapolis Colts have agreed to sign free agent WR Marc Boerigter (Packers). "It's a no-lose situation to go there, eight hours ago I didn't have a job," Boerigter told the Calgary Sun late Tuesday night, Aug. 22, after talking to Colts personnel. He has yet to formally sign a contract with the Colts but will fly into Terre Haute, Ind., this morning to take a physical and expects to be on the practice field at 2 p.m.

He has been displaying the ability to go up and get the football and gain yards after the catch, as well as quickly developing a quick level of trust with QB Brett Favre. McCarthy said, "Very solid, very consistent. Smart guy who plays all three positions. He's definitely what we saw in our evaluation process."

He received a $90,000 signing bonus, a $37,500 roster bonus and a $55,280 workout bonus. As noted earlier, his base salary is $600,000.

According to Silverstein, it was an intriguing meeting for both sides. "He's looking for an opportunity more than money," said Boerigter's agent, Craig Domann. "I know that doesn't sound right coming from an agent's mouth. But Green Bay's not that different than a lot of other teams in the league. There's always variables and X factors. Green Bay could draft five receivers."

The Associated Press reports Kansas City Chiefs WR Marc Boerigter (knee) is once again healthy and ready for the 2005 season. Head coach Dick Vermeil said Boerigter might have even improved since tearing the ACL in his right knee in a preseason game against Cleveland. "Personally, I think, right now he looks better now than prior to the injury. He just looks better to me. He's a good football player, and he knows he's in competition with other good football players," said Vermeil. Boerigter is in a close competition with at least five other wide receivers for three roster spots.
