Updating an earlier story, agent Alan Herman said Houston Texans G DeMingo Graham tested positive for ephedrine, a common stimulant found in some government-approved food and drinks that the NFL banned as of July 1 because it can cause seizures, strokes or even death. Graham said he was randomly tested the day after he drank some. As previously noted, he was suspended by the NFL for four games.

The Houston Chronicle reports Houston Texans G Cameron Spikes may start this week's game at left guard. Spikes has taken almost all of the snaps with the first-team this week at practice. He replaced starting LG DeMingo Graham midway through the second quarter of last week's game at Indianapolis.

The Ap reports Houston Texans starting LG Ryan Schau (sprained knee) was injured during practice Thursday. His status for Sunday night's game is uncertain. Coach Dom Capers said if Schau can't play on Sunday, backup G DeMingo Graham would start at left guard and Chad Overhauser would back up at left guard and center.

The Houston Texans remained busy Friday evening, agreeing to terms on a one-year, $550,000 contract with free agent OL DeMingo Graham (Chargers), according to ESPN's John Clayton. Graham received a $25,000 signing bonus and will compete with Jeremy McKinney for the starting job at right guard.

According to their official site, the San Diego Chargers have re-signed DL Mike Mohring to a one-year deal. The team released S Michael Dumas, making him an unrestricted free agent. The team issued tender offers to the following exclusive-rights free agents: CBs Fakhir Brown and Tony Darden, TE Reggie Davis, LB Orlando Ruff and defensive DL Mike Pringley and Antoine Simpson. Restricted free agents tendered offers were: CB Tim Denton, OL DeMingo Graham and Kendyl LB John Reeves and DB Reggie Rusk were not tendered offers making them unrestricted free agents.

The North County Times reports San Diego Chargers OL Kevin Gogan (knee) will undergo arthroscopic surgery and is out for the remainder of the season. DeMingo Graham will replace him in the starting lineup. The San Diego Union Tribune reports WR Jeff Graham (lip), RB Terrell Fletcher (rib) and LB Gerald Dixon (calf) all missed Wednesday's practice. Fletcher is expected to start again this weekend. The team will likely replace Graham with Trevor Gaylor and Reggie Jones will be the No. 3 receiver.
