Andrew Mason, of DenverBroncos.com, reports Denver Broncos DL Dorsett Davis traveled to Mississippi Monday, Aug. 29, in the face of Hurricane Katrina to visit his ailing father and help him make it through the devastating storm. "I had to go down there and make sure everything was cool and I had to be right back," Davis said. "It's okay; it's for my family. Family is important. I'm just glad (Mike Shanahan) understands that too." According to Davis, the typical 90-minute drive from Memphis, Tenn., to his home in Mississippi took nearly two and a half hours because of flooding, leaving him only a "couple of hours" to spend with his father before returning. Remarkably, Davis was back on the practice field Tuesday, Aug. 30.

Jennifer Tavlian, of DenverBroncos.com, reports Denver Broncos DL Dorsett Davis is eager to prove himself on the field this season after missing all of the 2004 campaign with a finger injury. "I'm going to work hard, regardless," Davis said. "I'm working and everybody can see I'm working and making plays and making strides to get better. I'm just trying to make this team win." Davis played well in the team's preseason opener.
