The suspension stems from a domestic violence arrest. Brandon was arrested in June 2004 and July 2005 on domestic violence charges. Misdemeanor charges stemming from the earlier incident were dismissed.

The Associated Press reports Denver Broncos S Sam Brandon turned himself in to Douglas County court officials Wednesday, Sept. 27 after a warrant was issued for his arrest. Brandon faces a charge of violating a restraining order and violation of his bond conditions, according to district attorney spokeswoman Kathleen Walsh. Both charges are misdemeanors and Brandon was released on a personal recognizance bond, despite objections from a prosecutor. He is due in court Nov. 17 for a pretrial conference on the new charges and a domestic violence case from July 2005.

Denver Broncos S Sam Brandon was led away from a courtroom Monday, July 17, after a judge revoked his bond posted for charges stemming from a domestic violence incident last July, according to the Associated Press. He was found to have violated terms of his release by leaving the state, district attorney spokeswoman Kathleen Walsh said in a statement. His bond was set at $10,000. His trial is scheduled for Oct. 3.

The fourth year does void if Brandon meets certain incentives, including playing time. Brandon received a $340,000 signing bonus to go with base salaries of $550,000 in 2006, $650,000 in 2007 and $750,000 in 2008. If the contract is not voided in 2009, he would receive $850,000.

Jeff Legwold, of the Rocky Mountain News, reports the Denver Broncos continue to get good news regarding S Sam Brandon (chest). Brandon has gone through practice all week without any problems. Barring an unforeseen setback, he will start the team's Week 10 game against the Oakland Raiders. Brandon has been a big part of the Broncos 'big' nickel package, one they use when they believe an offense will spread the field and try to run against their five defensive back look. That package could be significant this weekend because the Raiders ran the ball out of their three wide receiver look 19 times last weekend against the Kansas City Chiefs. Brandon is big enough to play along the line of scrimmage and quick enough to help play the tight end or a third receiver in the middle of the field.

Andrew Mason, of DenverBroncos.com, reports Denver Broncos FS Sam Brandon is looking to rebound from a disappointing 2004 campaign. Brandon went from a season-opening starter who ended up as a first-team safety for 11 of 17 games in 2003 to a backup whose action came almost exclusively on special teams a year later. He only saw brief work at safety against the Oakland Raiders and Houston Texans and played in just 10 of the Broncos' contests last season after not missing a game the first two years. "I just feel that I've let everybody down here," Brandon said. "That's the thing that eats me up." Brandon has performed fairly well during training camp, something he'll have to continue in order to land a roster spot.

Hector Gutierrez, of the Rocky Mountain News, reports Denver Broncos FS Sam Brandon spent July 4 locked up in the Douglas County Jail after his girlfriend said he hit, bit and tried to choke her over the weekend. Brandon was held on suspicion of misdemeanor assault and misdemeanor criminal mischief. Brandon was released on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond. Broncos' spokesman Jim Saccomano said the organization was unaware of the incident. Jeffrey A. Springer, Brandon's attorney, was confident Brandon will be exonerated and will resume his career in the National Football League and his work in the community. Brandon's girlfriend told the deputies she had argued with Brandon and that the argument had turned into a physical altercation.
