DallasCowboys.com reports the team has signed rookie TE Bob Slowikowski. He received a "split" contract of just $172,000, which includes the equivalent of a $42,0000 signing bonus in the form of a salary advance. He will spend his rookie season on IR after injuring his knee during an earlier mini-camp.

Updating an earlier story, Clarence E. Hill Jr. reports for the Star-Telegram the Dallas Cowboys have received counter-offers from several of their draft picks. However, no deals are close to completion. All picks received seven-year offers with the exception of S Roy Williams and injured TE Bob Slowikowski.

Dallas Cowboys.com reports rookie TE Bob Slowikowski, a sixth-round draft pick from Virginia Tech, suffered a torn ACL in his right knee in Tuesday's practice and will be out for the entire 2002 season. He was carted off the field and later underwent an MRI. He will likely receive a split contract, and earn roughly $113,000 for this season while rehabbing on injured reserve.
