The Seattle Times reports Seattle Seahawks DE Kemp Rasmussen's one-year contract is for $625,000, including a $40,000 signing bonus. His salary qualifies for the veteran exemption and will count just $425,000 against the salary cap.

The team will have a better idea of his availability against the Seattle Seahawks before practice Wednesday, Jan. 18. Peppers has indicated he plans to play against the Seahawks. If he is unable to, it could lead to more playing time for backup DEs Al Wallace and Kemp Rasmussen.

Rasmussen led the Panthers in special teams tackles and that could lead to more playing time on the defensive line next year. Top backup DE Al Wallace will be an unrestricted free agent and Rasmussen could compete for that job if Wallace leaves.
