The Heinrich signing effectively ends the Dolphins' interest in signing free agent TE Kyle Turley (Rams), a source said. Heinrich is "90 percent recovered" from a torn right anterior cruciate ligament suffered last summer, the source said.

"Getting hurt, I spent all season so far rehabbing," Heinrich said. "It feels good to finally get a chance to get back on the field." Heinrich, who was activated off the PUP list earlier this week, will likely serve as the third tight end in place of injured TE Chad Mustard (foot), who suffered a season-ending foot injury in practice Wednesday, Nov. 17.
