The Associated Press reports former Baltimore Ravens WR Javin Hunter was sentenced to six months in jail for a fatal hit-and-run accident. Hunter was sentenced Monday, Nov. 10, to a total of five years with all but six months suspended after pleading guilty to charges stemming from the July 17, 2007 accident.

Mary Gail Hare, of the Baltimore Sun, reports street free-agent WR Javin Hunter was involved in an accident that killed a 53-year-old man. Hunter was reportedly driving his car when it struck the man's motorized scooter. Hunter has not been charged with anything as of yet.

Hunter was in for a physical and workout with the 49ers last week before inking his deal. "I'm familiar with Javin from my time in Baltimore," head coach Mike Nolan said. "What impressed me the most about him was that he is a guy that will do whatever he can to make the team."

Brent Jones, of the Baltimore Sun, reports Baltimore Ravens WR Javin Hunter took his first repetitions at cornerback Wednesday, June 16. The Ravens' coaching staff decided Hunter's best chance at making the team will likely come as a reserve cornerback and kickoff return specialist. Ravens secondary coach Johnnie Lynn felt that Hunter made a smooth transition for his first practice. "I thought when he got in for a couple of plays, he did a nice job while he was in there," Lynn said. "Now it's just a matter of getting in the playbook and learning what we are doing."

Beasley, of BaltimoreRavens.com, reports Baltimore Ravens WR Javin Hunter (Achilles) is recovering well after undergoing reconstructive surgery to repair a ruptured right Achilles tendon he suffered last off-season. After four months of near immobility, Hunter is now up and running. He has gone from limping around the team's practice facility to jogging 18 minutes at a brisk pace. If Hunter continues to progress from his rehab, he will be able to return to the playing field for mini-camp this spring.

The South Bend Tribune reports Notre Dame held workouts Thursday for NFL scouts. DE Anthony Weaver checked in at 6-foot-3, 290 pounds. He said he would love to play for the Chicago Bears. Most of the pro scouts had their eyes on him Thursday. OT Kurt Vollers had a good showing after a disappointing NFL Combine. WR Javin Hunter did well Thursday, to go along with his strong performance at the NFL combine. "Javin Hunter was catching the ball pretty good and ran good routes," one scout said. RB Terrance Howard ran a 4.5 in the 40. RB Tony Fisher spent an extra 45 minutes working out for a St. Louis Rams scout. LBs Rocky Boiman and Tyreo Harrison also drew the attention of the scouts. The team has another workout next Tuesday.
