Dick Kreck, of the Denver Post, reports former NFL OL David Diaz-Infante's playing days are over, but he will now be the color analyst on Denver Broncos radio. He'll join play-by-play man Dave Logan on the Broncos broadcasts on KOA 850-AM. "It's the closest thing there is to playing or coaching," said Diaz-Infante, an offensive lineman who bounced around the NFL for nine seasons, including five with the Broncos.

According to the Associated Press, Denver Broncos starting LG Lennie Friedman tore a ligament in his right knee Sunday against the New England Patriots. He is listed as questionable for next Monday's game with Oakland. He finished the New England game after he was injured in the first half. "It shows you how tough he is, that he played the majority of the game with a second-degree MCL tear," coach Mike Shanahan said. If neither Steve Herndon (knee) nor Friedman can play, Shanahan said David Diaz-Infante would make his first start since 1997.

The Denver Post reports Denver Broncos starting G Dan Neil did not practice Wednesday and is listed as questionable for Sunday. Should Neil be unable to play, David Diaz-Infante would start in his place. The Broncos expect TE Patrick Hape (shoulder), CB Denard Walker (concussion) and LB Bill Romanowski (hip) to be able to play at Seattle.

The Gazette reports Denver Broncos OL Dan Neil's injury might be worse than expected. Neil, the team's starting right guard, has a high ankle sprain and it is unknown if he will be able to practice this week or play on Sunday. The team will know more about his condition on Wednesday, the first full day of practice this week. David Diaz-Infante briefly took over for Neil on Sunday and would likely be his replacement.

OL David Diaz-Infante's agent, Robb Nelson of ProLine Management, has confirmed to KFFL that they are in negotiations with the Denver Broncos about bringing Diaz-Infante back into the NFL. As reported, he visited with the team earlier this week and played in the XFL earlier this year.
