Nick Eatman reports for Dallas Cowboys.com starting RCB Mario Edwards is scheduled for surgery Friday to clean up some tissue damage sustained mid-season in his right shoulder. He is expected by the team's training staff to be back in time for the first mini-camp April 26. G Larry Allen had minor procedures two weeks ago to clean out his left shoulder and right elbow. Allen also is expected to be ready for the majority of the off-season camps. QB Anthony Wright and WR Bashir Yamini are recovering from reconstructive surgeries to repair torn anterior cruciate ligaments. Wright has been making solid progress in his rehab but might not be back in time for the Cowboys first mini-camp April 26.

The Dallas Morning News reports the Dallas Cowboys cut LB Mawuko Tugbenyoh and placed WR Bashir Yamini on IR. They then signed WR Siaha Burley, formerly of the Arena League and undrafted free agent LB Louis Mackey.

The Associated Press reports the Oakland Raiders defeated the Dallas Cowboys 21-14 tonight. RB Chris Howard's 8-yard touchdown run with 2:52 left broke a 14-all tie. On their first possession, the Raiders opened with a four-receiver set featuring Jerry Rice, Tim Brown, James Jett and Jerry Porter. QB Rich Gannon played for just the first series, completing 2-of-4 passes for 15 yards. For the Raiders other TDs, backup QB Bobby Hoying threw a 3-yard TD pass to TE Mondriel Fulcher and second-round pick QB Marques Tuiasosopo found fellow rookie WR Ken-Yon Rambo in the end zone with a 40-yard pass. Dallas rookie QB Quincy Carter had two TD passes, a 56-yard pass to WR Chris Brazzell and n 18-yard scoring pass to WR Bashir Yamini.

The Dallas Morning News reports if WR Carl Pickens retires from the Dallas Cowboys, it'll open up more opportunities for WRs Wane McGarity, Jason Tucker, Damon Hodge, Chris Brazzell, Bashir Yamini, Damon Dunn and Jermaine Copeland. The Cowboys are deep at wide receiver right now and probably won't keep any more than six receivers. Thus, only four spots would be open as starters Joey Galloway and Raghib Ismail are almost guaranteed roster spots this year.

According to Nick Eatman of their official site, the Dallas Cowboys have signed street free agent WR Bashir Yamini. He spent the 2000 season on the Titans practice squad. As previously reported, the Cowboys still have their eyes on CFL QB Henry Burris. One Cowboys spokesperson said the club is interested in signed Burris.

According to their official site, the Dallas Cowboys will take a look at seven street free agents on Tuesday. They are: QB Leon Murray (Redskins training camp 2000), DE Jessie Warren (Titans training camp 2000), WR Marcus Stiggers (Redskins training camp 2000), RB Basil Mitchell (formerly with Green Bay), DT Bryant Shaw (Cowboys camp 2000), WR Bashir Yamini (Titans practice squad 2000) and WR Patrick Batteaux (Chargers practice squad). Also, TE Johnny Huggins who was in camp with Dallas last season wants to re-sign with Dallas and play in NFL Europe.
