"Certainly, we like the player, but we're not in a full-blown pant to sign Magglio Ordonez," said Rangers general manager John Hart Friday, Jan. 28. "We're going through the due diligence and there's a lot to do on that." The Rangers had negative experiences in 2004 with players coming off knee surgeries, OF Brian Jordan and 1B Brad Fullmer, and would have to be certain Ordonez was not at risk for further injury problems.
