The Associated Press reports St. Louis Cardinals OF Preston Wilson (knee) underwent surgery on his right knee Tuesday, June 12, and he will be out the rest of the season. The procedure to repair the articular cartilage was performed by Dr. Richard Steadman in Vail, Colo.

According to Matthew Leach, of Cardinals.MLB.com, St. Louis Cardinals OF Preston Wilson (knee), who has been sidelined since May 6th with a knee injury, will have surgery on his right knee. It is unknown at this time what type of knee surgery Wilson will have.

ESPN.com reports St. Louis Cardinals OF Preston Wilson (knee) will likely need three weeks of rest and rehab before he is able to return from his right knee injury. Wilson originally injured the knee during spring training, when he banged it on an outfield fence. However, manager Tony La Russa said Wilson has also been suffering from arthritis in the knee for several seasons.
