Marlins | Ichiro Suzuki starting again

Fri, 24 Apr 2015 13:23:12 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Ichiro Suzuki is starting in left field and hitting seventh in the batting order against Washington Nationals SP Jordan Zimmermann Friday, April 24.

Fantasy Tip: Suzuki ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) will effectively become the starting left fielder with Christian Yelich (back) on the disabled list. Suzuki is primarily a matchup play with little upside at FantasyScore, and even though Zimmermann is off to a slow start in 2015, Suzuki is a weak option for daily gamers Friday night.

Marlins | Christian Yelich remains out

Wed, 22 Apr 2015 13:35:00 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Christian Yelich (back) remains out of the starting lineup Wednesday, April 22. OF Ichiro Suzuki once again is starting in left field and hitting seventh in the batting order against Philadelphia Phillies SP Cole Hamels.

Fantasy Tip: Yelich's ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) slow start hasn't been helped by his recent back injury. If it lingers, there's a chance he could land on the disabled list. Although Hamels hasn't been himself to start 2015, Suzuki should be considered more of a weak play. For those trying to go against the grain, there's this: Suzuki hit .333 (21-for-63) with his only homer of the year against lefties in 2014.

Marlins | Ichiro takes advantage of start

Tue, 21 Apr 2015 20:28:24 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Ichiro Suzuki had pair of singles with a run scored Tuesday, April 21, against the Philadelphia Phillies filling in for the injured OF Christian Yelich (back).

Fantasy Tip: Ichiro is a solid add in FantasyScore at just $1,800 (or 3.6% of cap), as he could see regular starts with Yelich expected to miss a few days at minimum.

Marlins | Christian Yelich scratched

Tue, 21 Apr 2015 15:41:28 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Christian Yelich (lower back) was scratched Tuesday, April 21, against the Philadelphia Phillies, due to lower-back tightness. OF Marcell Ozuna will hit fifth in the order, while OF Ichiro Suzuki will start in left field and bat sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Suzuki ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) could be worth a rare start in FantasyScore contests with an excellent matchup against the Phillies and SP Jerome Williams. Suzuki has five hits in 26 plate appearances this season, but is just $200 more than the minimum price on FantasyScore, and will have a nice spot in the Marlins batting order for driving in some runs.

Marlins | Ichiro Suzuki starting in CF

Fri, 17 Apr 2015 13:26:19 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Ichiro Suzuki is starting in center field and hitting sixth in the batting order against New York Mets SP Bartolo Colon Friday, April 17.

Fantasy Tip: While Suzuki ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) won't excite many FantasyScore owners, don't completely ignore him tonight against Colon. Suzuki owns a career average of .326 (31-for-95) with three home runs and 10 RBI against Colon and should be looked at as a potential sleeper for daily lineups.

Marlins | Marcell Ozuna has day off

Fri, 17 Apr 2015 13:07:32 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Marcell Ozuna is taking the day off Friday, April 17. OF Ichiro Suzuki is starting in center field and hitting sixth in the batting order against New York Mets SP Bartolo Colon.

Fantasy Tip: Suzuki ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has four hits in his first 17 at-bats in 2015. At age 41, Suzuki isn't anywhere near the offensive force he was in his days with the Seattle Mariners. However, he excels against right-handed pitchers and is 31-for-95 (.326) with three home runs in his career against Colon. Consider Suzuki a value play as a sleeper at FantasyScore this evening.

Marlins | Christian Yelich out

Wed, 15 Apr 2015 08:21:02 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Christian Yelich (back) remains out of the starting lineup Wednesday, April 15. OF Ichiro Suzuki is starting in left field and batting second against Atlanta Braves SP Eric Stults.

Fantasy Tip: Yelich ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) is considered day-to-day for now, so keep an eye on his progress. Suzuki ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) had a hit in four at-bats last night and is hitting .250 on the season. He's a weaker outfield option at FantasyScore today, even though he managed to hit .333 with one homer against lefties in 2014.

Marlins | Christian Yelich scratched Tuesday

Tue, 14 Apr 2015 14:22:35 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Christian Yelich (back) was scratched from the starting lineup Tuesday, April 14. OF Ichiro Suzuki will start in left field in his place.

Fantasy Tip: Perhaps Yelich injured himself last night while making an outstanding diving catch in the outfield Monday night. Stay tuned for more news on his status. Suzuki ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has really declined in recent seasons, and he hit just .274 with no home runs against right-handers in 2014.

Marlins | Ichiro Suzuki in starting lineup

Sun, 12 Apr 2015 07:55:44 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Ichiro Suzuki will start in center field and bat fifth in the starting lineup Sunday, April 12.

Fantasy Tip: It will be Suzuki's ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) first start of the season. He has one hit in four at bats so far this season and likely will come off the bench in most games. Suzuki is probably not the best option for owners on FantasyScore.
