The AP reports New York Mets outfielder Cliff Floyd (Achilles tendon) was hurt during Saturday night's Montreal Expos game and his status is day-to-day. Floyd singled to the gap in left-center with one out in the seventh and strained his right Achilles' tendon - which he slightly tore in 1999. Tsuyoshi Shinjo pinch ran for him. "I think it's more scar tissue than anything else breaking up," Floyd said. "It can scare you because when it breaks up, it hurts."

The AP reports OF Tsuyoshi Shinjo is back with the New York Mets this season after spending last year with the San Francisco Giants. The Mets traded him away prior to last year’s season, but signed the then-free agent to a one-year contract in January.
