Rob Maaddi, of The Associated Press, reports Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Garret Anderson moved into a tie with former MLB DH Tim Salmon on the team's all-time list in runs scored with 986.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim DH Tim Salmon was the only player eligible to file for free agency who did not do so, according to the Associated Press. He had previously announced intentions to retire at the end of the 2006 season.

Angels | Salmon stopped one homer shy of 300

The Los Angeles Daily News' Doug Padilla reports Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim DH Tim Salmon played his final game Oct. 1 and was on deck in the 11th inning but did not get one more chance to hit his 300th home run. Salmon retires with 299 homers, 986 runs scored and 1,016 RBI.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim DH Tim Salmon made his third start of the season in the outfield, Saturday, Sept. 30, against the Oakland Athletics, in his next-to-last game before retirement. He will serve as the designated hitter in the season finale, Sunday, Oct. 1, according to the Associated Press.

SportsTicker reports Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim DH Tim Salmon will retire at the end of the season. A news conference is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. EDT Thursday, Sept. 28. Salmon will end his career as the longest tenured member of the Angels and the franchise leader in home runs (298), runs (983) and walks (966).

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim DH Tim Salmon appeared in his 1,662nd regular-season game with the team, Saturday, Sept. 9, against the Toronto Blue Jays, surpassing Brian Downing for second place on the all-time list, according to the Associated Press. He struck out as a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning. Salmon, who intends to retire at the end of the season, trails Garret Anderson on the list by 80 games (1,742 and counting).

Angels | Salmon drives in 1,000th career run

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim DH Tim Salmon drove in his 1,000th career run Saturday, May 13, in the third inning of a game against SP Jarrod Washbrun and the Seattle Mariners, according to the Associated Press. Salmon joined OF Garrett Anderson as the only players in team history to drive in 1,000 runs.
