Baltimore Orioles vice president Dan Duquette said Friday, Feb. 10, that he doesn't expect the team to sign free-agent OF Manny Ramirez (Rays). The team also isn't expected to add any more players between now and spring training.

The Oakland Athletics, Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles remain in the running to sign free-agent OF Manny Ramirez (Rays), and one of those teams could make an offer in the next week. The A's have recently watched Ramirez and remain "interested" in him.

Oakland Athletics assistant general manager David Forst said the team is open to the possibility of signing free-agent OF Manny Ramirez (Rays) but they are not actively pursuing him.

The Oakland Athletics still have an interest in free-agent OF Manny Ramirez, but a move might not come until right before spring training. The team will want to do every bit of due diligence, considering Ramirez's busts for PEDs and his occasionally odd behavior. However, Athletics owner Lew Wolff said the team got good reports from Tampa Bay people, including Dan Feinstein, who recently returned to the A's after serving as Tampa Bay's director of baseball operations last year.

The Oakland Athletics are "very interested" in signing free-agent OF Manny Ramirez (Rays) to be their designated hitter this season, according to a well-informed source. He has been working out in Miami since December and plans to hold a workout for interested teams at the end of this month. The Baltimore Orioles and Toronto Blue Jays have watched Ramirez hit in an indoor cage. He must serve a 50-game suspension at the start of the year.
