Associated Press reports Dallas Cowboys rookie WR DeVeren Johnson, on the team's practice squad, was arrested on Monday on charges that he pushed his way through a security checkout at an airport. He was charged with breach of peace and circumventing airport security. He was released on a $500 cash bond and ordered to appear in court on Oct. 8.

Rookie WR DeVeren Johnson's agent, Joe Linta, confirmed to KFFL that Johnson has been signed by the Dallas Cowboys to a seven-year deal, which is voidable to three-years if he plays in 15 percent of the offensive snaps in 2002 or 30 percent in the offensive snaps any year there after. The deal included a $43,000 signing bonus.

WR DeVeren Johnson, from Sacred Heart, had representatives from the New York Jets, New York Giants, Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills on hand for his workout according to his agent, Joe Linta. Linta informed KFFL that Johnson ran a 4.66 40-yard dash on the cold grass during 40-degree weather. At 6-foot-4 and 212 pounds, he also had a 6.75 second L-drill, 37" vertical jump and 10' broad jump.
