The Arizona Republic reports free agent WR MarTay Jenkins (Cardinals) the Arizona Cardinals are $1 million apart on a new, two-year contract, and Jenkins could choose to sign a one-year deal elsewhere. Jenkins is asking for $3 million over two years, including a $600,000 signing bonus and salaries of $1.2 million in each year. The Cardinals countered with an offer that included a $400,000 bonus and salaries of $800,000. His agent, Michael Bauer, may speak with the Falcons and Raiders at the NFL owners meetings next week. Houston, as previously reported, reportedly has already made him an offer.

The Arizona Republic reports the Arizona Cardinals are unlikely to re-sign WR MarTay Jenkins before the start of free agency at the end of the month. Michael Bauer, Jenkins’ agent, met with the team last week and is believed to be seeking a contract in the range of the $3-million-a-year deal San Diego Chargers WR Tim Dwight signed last off-season. Dwight also received a $5 million signing bonus. The Cardinals don’t appear willing to give up that much money to Jenkins.
