Padres | Chase Headley reaches RBI milestone

A two-run single by San Diego Padres 3B Chase Headley gave him 30 runs batted in for the month of August. That makes him the eighth Padres player to get that many in a month. The last San Diego player with 30-plus RBIs in a month was Ryan Klesko in May 2001, when he set a team record with 40.

Andrew Baggarly, of the San Jose Mercury News, reports San Francisco Giants 1B Ryan Klesko (wrist) has been unavailable the past two days because of a tender wrist. However, he took batting practice Wednesday, Sept. 19, and said the wrist has improved.

The Associated Press reports San Francisco Giants OF Ryan Klesko's 10th career grand slam helped the Giants to a 10-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Aug. 13. Klesko's slam came in the sixth against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Shane Youman, who is 0-4 since the All-Star break.

He responded with a big performance at the plate, driving in four runs on a home run, single and a double.
