Atlanta Braves 3B Chipper Jones (calf) underwent a procedure to drain some blood in his leg Saturday, May 26, to help his calf contusion heal faster. He hopes to be ready to come off the disabled list when he is first eligible.

The Atlanta Braves have not yet decided if INF/OF Martin Prado will play third base or left field while 3B Chipper Jones (leg) is on the disabled list but manager Fredi Gonzalez said Prado wouldn't go back and forth.

Confirming previous reports, the Atlanta Braves have placed 3B Chipper Jones (leg) on the 15-day disabled list because of a bruised left leg. In a corresponding move, C J.C. Boscan was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Atlanta Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said he hopes 3B Chipper Jones (calf) will be able to play in one of the two remaining game in the series against the Washington Nationals this weekend but Jones is not as optimistic. Jones likely will not be placed on the 15-day disabled list because he was used as a pinch hitter Wednesday, May 23.
