Free-agent OF Geoff Jenkins (Phillies) signed a contract valued at $1 and retired as a member of the Milwaukee Brewers Friday, July 9, reports The Associated Press.

The Sports Network reports the Philadelphia Phillies released OF Geoff Jenkins Tuesday, March 31. The team must still pay him $6.75 million this year and a $1.25 million buyout for 2010 unless he is claimed off waivers.
