The AP reports Houston Astros general manager Gerry Hunsicker is trying to determine whether to carry 12 pitchers or six outfielders during the regular season. According to Hunsicker, "We used 12 pitchers most of last year, which is uncharacteristic for us. If we use 12 pitchers again, we'll have to eliminate a position player somewhere." If the team only carries five outfielders, the last spot would likely come down to a battle between OF Brian Hunter and OF Jason Lane, assuming the team opts to keep Rule 5 draftee OF Victor Hall all season.
