Renck, of the Denver Post, reports the Colorado Rockies are still looking for a left-handed bat to come off the bench, and they have discussed pursuing free-agent outfielders Todd Hollandsworth (Reds) or John Mabry (Cubs). OF Alexis Gomez, who recently signed a contract with the club, could also fill that role.

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports the Cincinnati Reds activated OF Todd Hollandsworth Thursday, Aug. 10. He was acquired from the Cleveland Indians the day prior.

ESPN.com reports the Cincinnati Reds acquired OF Todd Hollandsworth from the Cleveland Indians Wednesday, Aug. 9, in exchange for cash and a player to be named later. Hollandsworth was hitting .237, with six home runs and 27 RBI in 56 games for the Indians this season.

Anthony Castrovince, of Cleveland.Indians.MLB.com, reports Cleveland Indians manager Eric Wedge has numerous platoons to choose from each day. At second base, Wedge has a choice between IF Joe Inglett or 2B Hector Luna. In right field, he has a choice between OF Todd Hollandsworth or Jason Michaels. In left field, he has a choice between OF Casey Blake or OF Shin-Soo Choo. At first base, he has a choice between Blake or C Victor Martinez and finally at catcher he has a choice between Martinez and C Kelly Shoppach.

Anthony Castrovince, of Cleveland.Indians.MLB.com, reports Cleveland Indians OF Casey Blake was given the No. 2 spot in the lineup Sunday, July 16, for the sixth time this season. Blake replaced OF Jason Michaels, who was given the day off, in the lineup while OF Todd Hollandsworth covered left field in place of Michaels.
