Alfredo R. Berrios, of ESPNDeportes.com, reports former MLB OF Juan Gonzalez said he never used performance-enhancing drugs during his 17-year major league career. "I have nothing to hide," Gonzalez said this week. "Nothing. And I offered to be tested, whenever they wanted. If you have nothing to hide, there is nothing to worry (about)."

ESPN Radio's Andrew Marchand and FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal report New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez could be suspended for his relationship with steroid-linked trainer Angel Presinal. Presinal was banned after an October 2001 incident involving an unmarked bag full of steroids that Presinal said belonged to OF Juan Gonzalez. One source said Presinal accompanied Rodriguez for the entire 2007 season, staying in a hotel room during road trips with A-Rod's cousin Yuri Sucart.

Matthew Leach, of Cardinals.MLB.com, reports the St. Louis Cardinals have placed OF Juan Gonzalez (abdomen) on the temporary inactive list. Gonzalez will return home to Puerto Rico, but the door is open for a return to the team once he fully recovers from his abdomen strain.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports St. Louis Cardinals OF Colby Rasmus has been brought back to play in some big-league games while OF Brian Barton (leg) heals and while OF Juan Gonzalez (abdomen) still is sidelined by a strained abdominal muscle.

MLB.com's Matthew Leach reports St. Louis Cardinals OF Juan Gonzalez (abdomen) will be re-evaluated in five to seven days. Gonzalez does not have a hernia, but will have his activity reduced in the near term to give his abdominal strain a chance to heal up. The veteran hasn't appeared in a game since March 10.

The Associated Press reports St. Louis Cardinals OF Juan Gonzalez (abdomen) was held out Monday, March 17, for the seventh straight spring game. Gonzalez underwent an MRI exam Friday, March 14, and is still waiting for the results to be reviewed by a specialist. The injury is not considered serious. "The doctors say there's no hernia, that it's just the muscle," Gonzalez said. "I'll keep taking treatment and when I'm fine, I'll go out there."

Gonzalez has not responded as hoped to rest and relaxation, and he underwent an MRI exam Friday, March 14, to determine the severity of the injury.
