"Not as much as I would like at this point,'' Giles said. "Obviously, I'm going to give it a few more days, but I'm not where I want to be physically. We'll see if it gets better with more activity. Certain drills grab it, and certain movements grab it. Obviously, when you irritate it, anything you do is going to be painful.''

If he makes the team, he would receive a $550,000 base salary, and could earn an additional $200,000 in performance bonuses. Giles can request his release at the end of the spring if the Dodgers decide not to keep him on their roster.
