Associated Press reports the Dallas Cowboys have re-signed restricted free agent TE Mike Lucky to a one-year deal worth $563,000.

Dallas Cowboys.com reports the team has tendered MLB Dat Nguyen and DT Brandon Noble, both restricted free agents, first-round tenders for next season worth $1.22 million each. The team now have the right of first refusal and could match any deal or could let the player sign with that club and receive a first-round draft pick in compensation. The Cowboys also gave four more restricted free agents tender offers. TE Mike Lucky, WR Darrin Chiaverini, CB Duane Hawthorne and C Ben Fricke all received a $563,000 tender for next season. Only Lucky was drafted by the Cowboy, in the seventh round of 1999.

The Fort Worth-Star Telegram reports the Dallas Cowboys are expected to make tender offers to restricted free agents: WR Darrin Chiaverini, CB Duane Hawthorne, TE Mike Lucky, LB Dat Nguyen, DT Brandon Noble and C Ben Fricke. The tenders have to be extended by Thursday and have to be for at least $563,000.

Dallas Cowboys.com reports TE Mike Lucky (ankle) returned to practice Friday and he will play Sunday. S George Teague and TE Jackie Harris who have been limited because of sickness, returned Friday and will play Sunday, barring any setbacks.

Dallas Cowboys head coach Dave Campo said S George Teague (flu) was sent home from practice on Thursday. TE Mike Lucky (ankle) wasn't able to do much; he worked with trainers but should be ready to play this weekend. OL Kelvin Garmon (sprained foot) will be a game time decision this weekend. Campo said everyone else, including WR Joey Galloway (groin), TE Jackie Harris (flu) and DE Greg Ellis (ankle), went through Thursday's practice.

Dallas Cowboys.com reports WR Joey Galloway (groin), RG Kelvin Garmon (sprained foot) and TE Jackie Harris (flu) were all held out of practice today. The team practiced in sub-30 degree temperatures. TE Mike Lucky (ankle) did not practice as well. DE Greg Ellis (ankle) went through a limited practice.

The Star-Telegram reports it looks like Dallas Cowboys RB/FB Troy Hambrick will start at fullback against the Broncos Thursday. J.J. Huggins who started at FB the last few games is needed at TE this week. Huggins will be used at tight end, H-back and fullback against the Broncos. TE Mike Lucky is expected to start at TE with Jackie Harris (hamstring) OUT.

The Dallas Morning News is reporting Dallas Cowboys starting TE Jackie Harris is now expected to miss at least a week with a strained right groin, which means J.J. Huggins should see his first playing time of the year. Mike Lucky would more than likely take over as the starting TE.

According to the team's official site, Dallas Cowboys coach Dave Campo said he expects the majority of his starters to play the first half of this Monday's pre-season game with Oakland. RB Emmitt Smith will not play against the Raiders, mainly because of the unknown field conditions at Azteca Stadium. Troy Hambrick will replace Smith as the starting RB. Campo also said he'll wait until closer to game time to decide how much action WRs Joey Galloway and Raghib Ismail, along with OT Flozell Adams will see. DE Peppi Zellner and TE Mike Lucky both will play against the Raiders.

The Dallas Morning News reports, as expected, the Dallas Cowboys acivated TE Mike Lucky and DE Peppi Zellner off the PUP list on Tuesday. Also returning to practice Tuesday afternoon was starting C Mark Stepnoski, who had been out since late July with a sprained left ankle.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports the Dallas Cowboys may have to scramble at the tight end position if TE David LaFleur (back) doesn't improve. TE Jackie Harris will step into the starting lineup, but he's not as good of a blocker as LaFleur is. The team's next best blocker is TE Mike Lucky, who is recovering from a knee injury. Head coach Dave Campo stated it's important the team finds someone capable of blocking in order to give more support up front for RB Emmitt Smith to find holes to run through.

According to the team's official site, the Dallas Cowboys have placed TEs David LaFleur and Mike Lucky, along with DE Peppi Zellner on the PUP list for the start of training camp. As expected, the team also put rookie DT Daleroy Stewart on the non-football injury list since he still has not fully recovered from a March surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff in his shoulder.

Jean-Jacques Taylor, of the Dallas Morning News, reports for the Sporting News that the Dallas Cowboys are looking for some of their other TEs to step up right now because of TE David LaFleur's uncertain status due to a herniated disk in his back. TE Mike Lucky has made good progress in his pass-catching and is also a solid blocker. The team has also been impressed by former XFLer Ryan Collins, who has shown good versatility. Collins is also working as a deep snapper.

Pickens is still suffering from hamstring problems and is considering retirement while both Hambrick and Sparks have issues with the team about their contracts. Meanwhile, DallasCowboys.com reports TE Mike Lucky (knee), DE Peppi Zellner (knee) and WR Marcus Stiggers (knee) are all expected to be limited.

DallasCowboys.com reports TE Jackie Harris worked as the No. 1 tight end for the Dallas Cowboys today because two of the team's top three tight ends, David LaFleur (knee) and Mike Lucky (knee), are on the sideline with injury problems. LaFleur wasn't able to take part in any team drills but worked with the team's strength and conditioning coaches. Lucky is continuing his rehabilitation from tearing several ligaments in his knee a year ago.

The Star-Telegram reports Dallas Cowboys RB Emmitt Smith (eye surgery) has been medically cleared to participate in the four-day QB school beginning Monday, according to assistant trainer Britt Brown. Coach Dave Campo said WRs Raghib Ismail and Joey Galloway, TE Mike Lucky and DE Peppi Zellner, all recovering from knee injuries that ended their 2000 seasons, will not participate in drills. TE David LaFleur (arthroscopic knee surgery) is questionable.

Due to injuries and contract issues, veteran participation will be diminished. WRs Joey Galloway and Raghib Ismail, TE Mike Lucky and DE Peppi Zellner are still rehabbing knee injuries from last season. TE David LaFleur (knee) and C Mark Stepnoski (knee) will participate on a limited basis. RB Emmitt Smith's status is unknown following eye surgery last week. Nick Eatman reports for the team's official site the Cowboys will be keeping their eyes open for a No. 3 TE to play behind David LaFleur and Jackie Harris. LaFleur is coming off an injury-plagued season where he battled a pelvic-bone irritation and a sprained knee. Harris became the Cowboys second-leading receiver with 39 catches and a career-high five TDs. His production fell off at the middle of the season as he recorded just 93 receiving yards in the last seven games. One potential No. 3 TE, Mike Lucky, has been in rehab and although the doctors say he has made "great progress," there is still concern whether he can make a full recovery. The team will also look at TE James Whalen, who is currently playing in NFL Europe. The Cowboys can also turn to the NFL Draft. With three picks in the seventh round, it's likely one could be a tight end.

Nick Eatman reports for DallasCowboys.com several injured Cowboys are continuing their off-season rehabs. WRs Joey Galloway and Raghib Ismail are both coming off re-constructive knee surgeries. Team trainer Jim Maurer said both players are coming along fine in their rehabilitations. Galloway is about two months ahead of Ismail but of course he was injured earlier in the 2000 season. DE Peppi Zellner, who tore his ACL late in the season may not make it back by the start of the season. TE Mike Lucky (severe knee injury) is also coming along in his rehab. OC Mark Stepnoski and DT Leon Lett, who both had sprained MCL injuries late in the year are coming along, but Stepnoski had a knee scope so he's a little behind Lett. TE David LaFleur (knee scope) should not miss much off-season time.

According to Dallascowboys.com, Cowboys TE David LaFleur, who missed the last two games of the season with swelling in his right knee, had his knee scoped last week. DB Charlie Williams also had minor knee surgery on his right knee. According to trainer Jim Mauer, Williams had a screw removed from his knee. The Cowboys have also planned a shoulder surgery for reserve CB Duane Hawthorne. Maurer said all of the Cowboys who had injuries, including eight with knee injuries, are progressing well. WRs Joey Galloway and Rocket Ismail, DL Brandon Tolbert, TE Mike Lucky, DL Peppi Zellner, S Greg Myers, DT Leon Lett and OC Mark Stepnoski are all coming along nicely, recovering from the ACL and MCL injuries.
