Chicago White Sox 1B Adam Dunn is guaranteed $15 million next season, and he is just 33 years old. However, he said Tuesday, Sept. 3, that he will consider retiring this offseason and forfeiting his remaining salary if he is no longer enjoying himself. "I'm not coming back just to come back for money because I have one year left (on his contract)," Dunn said. "I'm not coming back to chase home-run numbers or whatever. If I end up with 499 and I'm not having fun, see ya - 499 it is."

Chicago White Sox 1B Paul Konerko (back) received six injections in his back Friday, June 28. He'll try to take batting practice Saturday, June 29, and play Sunday, June 30. If he can't, he'll likely land on the disabled list.
Fantasy Tip: Adam Dunn would likely see most of the starts at first base if Konerko were sidelined. Conor Gillaspie or Brent Morel could also fill in, if needed, but they could also be used in the designated hitter role if Dunn plays first.

The Chicago White Sox are willing to trade any play except for 1B Paul Konerko and SP Chris Sale this summer, according to rival executives. The White Sox could part with OF Alex Rios, SS Alexei Ramirez and SP John Danks, and they are currently involved in some discussions with other clubs. The Texas Rangers, New York Yankees, San Francisco Giants, Philadelphia Phillies and Kansas City Royals could all be fits for Rios, and the Los Angeles Dodgers make sense for Ramirez.
Chicago could get the idea to sell RP Jesse Crain as a ninth-inning man during a soft market for closers. He has roughly $2.25 million left on his salary this year. SP Jake Peavy (rib) could wind up being the best available pitcher on the market this summer, but he still has three weeks before he's back from the disabled list. The White Sox will want a lot in return for Peavy, and other teams won't be sure he's completely healthy. 3B Jeff Keppinger's name has also come up, and 1B Adam Dunn may be hard to move.

Chicago White Sox 1B Adam Dunn (back) is just 2-for-31 with 18 strikeouts entering Thursday, May 30, since leaving the game early May 18 with lower back pain, and Dunn admitted that it has likely affected his performance. Dunn took a personal day off Thursday to catch his breath during his slump.
Fantasy Tip: At this point in his career, you know what you're getting from Dunn: tons of strikeouts, a low batting average and incredible home run power. Long slumps are textbook from Dunn, but if his back injury is more serious, that could create problems for his power stroke. This is a bat that should be benched often when he's not going well.

Chicago White Sox 1B Adam Dunn (back) said Wednesday, May 22, that he is having difficulty getting loose, but he continues to play despite not being at 100 percent. He said his problem is more related to fielding because his pain is vertical. "It takes so long to get loose," Dunn said. "I have to probably go two or three batters before I normally do just to go and get loose again. Other than that, it's pretty much the same."

Chicago White Sox 1B Adam Dunn said he altered the position of his hands on the bat Sunday, May 12, and it's paying dividends immediately. Dunn homered Tuesday, May 14, and has two hits and another long ball Wednesday, May 15.
Fantasy Tip: Dunn was in a terrible slump before Tuesday, but that's not exactly nothing new for the big lefty slugger. Dunn has 40-home run power, but will hurt your team's batting average in the process. You'll have to live with that if you want him on your team.
