Former San Francisco Giants OF Pat Burrell may help the Giants in camp for one or two weeks this spring. Manager Bruce Bochy said that he and general manager Brian Sabean talked to Burrell this winter about a post-retirement role in the organization, which could include a spring training visit.

San Francisco Giants OF Pat Burrell asked to be in the lineup for the season finale Wednesday, Sept. 28, because it could very well be his last major league game. He will give his foot strain time to heal before he makes a final decision on retirement. Burrell said he will only return to play for San Fran next year, though.
