San Francisco Giants OF Pat Burrell asked to be in the lineup for the season finale Wednesday, Sept. 28, because it could very well be his last major league game. He will give his foot strain time to heal before he makes a final decision on retirement. Burrell said he will only return to play for San Fran next year, though.

The San Francisco Giants activated OF Pat Burrell (foot) from the 15-day disabled list Wednesday, Aug. 31, and purchased the contract of IF Brett Pill from Triple-A Fresno. Burrell went 3-for-13 (.231) with two RBIs in four rehab games for Single-A San Jose and Fresno.
