Marlins | Dee Gordon joins elite company

Mon, 04 May 2015 15:27:17 -0700

Miami Marlins 2B Dee Gordon's .645 batting average (20-for-31) during the Marlins' recent nine-game homestand is the second highest for a homestand of at least nine games since 1914. Only Barry Bonds' .684 mark (13-for-19) during a 10-game homestand in 2004 tops Gordon's recent showing.

Fantasy Tip: Gordon ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) has been everything fantasy owners could have expected and then some. While he is living on base, he hasn't exactly set the world on fire with his counting stats, as he has just 15 runs, 11 RBI and 11 stolen bases. Still, those are respectable marks, and Gordon is worth considering for usage in FantasyScore contests while hitting so well. Seasonal owners should expect regression towards Gordon's career sub-.300 batting average going forward.
