New York Mets manager Jerry Manuel said he has no plans to move OF Carlos Beltran from center field, according to The New York Times' David Waldstein. "I think there will be a time in his career when that might be an issue," Manuel said. "Do I think that time is now? No, I don't think it's now. We're in August here. Will we look at this and say where are we better going into Spring Training? Possibly. We'll look at it and see what fits best for us, or whomever, going into Spring Training. That will be the place to introduce it or get it done."

Beltran said he was able to track changeups well at the plate but admitted he had trouble catching up to a 97 mph fastball from San Francisco Giants CL Brian Wilson.
