The New York Yankees have placed OF Carlos Beltran (concussion) on the seven-day disabled list because of a concussion. The team also recalled 3B Yangervis Solarte from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Fantasy Tip: It is not known how long Beltran will be sidelined, so owners should look to stash him on their bench for now. Solarte could receive playing time at third base and designated hitter while he is up with the team and could be a short-term option if available in AL-only or deeper mixed leagues.

New York Yankees OF Carlos Beltran (face) suffered two small facial fractures after a batted ball caromed off an L screen and hit him in the face Wednesday, July 9. Beltran isn't on the disabled list, though, and manager Joe Girardi said Beltran could play Thursday, July 10. "I had a headache for the whole day but now it's getting better," Beltran said. "Hopefully tomorrow it will get better and I could be back soon, but I don't know what the team's going to do. With the concussion things, teams take that serious. Honestly, I don't feel like I have that. But at the end of the day, it's not my decision."
Fantasy Tip: This is an unfortunate incident for a team that can not afford anymore injuries to their key players. Beltran will likely be day-to-day for now.
