Updating previous reports, St. Louis Cardinals OF Carlos Beltran (knee) had an MRI on his right knee Wednesday, May 16, that came out clean. He may be available to return to the outfield Friday, May 18.

St. Louis Cardinals OFs Carlos Beltran (knee, foot) and Allen Craig (hamstring) are both out of the lineup again Thursday, May 17. Beltran has missed four straight games with a problematic right knee, but he's available to pinch hit. There are no plans to put him on the disabled list. Craig is not available and is listed as day-to-day.

Updating a previous report, in addition to his ailing right knee, St. Louis Cardinals OF Carlos Beltran (knee, foot) is also dealing with a foot injury. His knee condition is a byproduct of both 2010 surgery and plantar fasciitis. Despite being banged up, manager Mike Matheny said Wednesday, May 16, that Beltran could be available as soon as Thursday, May 17.

St. Louis Cardinals OF Carlos Beltran said Wednesday, May 16, that the San Francisco Giants never called him in the offseason. "This is a business," Beltran said. "I was willing to come back, but they went out there and got good players in (OF Angel Pagan) and (OF Melky Cabrera)."

Updating a previous report, St. Louis Cardinals OF Carlos Beltran (knee) did not start Monday, May 14, against the Chicago Cubs, and manager Mike Matheny wasn't sure if Beltran would be able to play Tuesday, May 15, due to right knee soreness. Beltran said he isn't concerned. "I'm not worried. If it continues to feel like that, it's a different story. But I'm not worried about it," Beltran said.
