Orioles.MLB.com's Gary Washburn reports former MLB OF Brady Anderson was elected to the Baltimore Orioles' Hall of Fame. Anderson spent 14 seasons with the O's before leaving the team in 2001.

ESPN.com reports Hall of Fame SP Jim Palmer said in an interview on a Baltimore radio station Sunday, March 14, that he questions whether former Baltimore Orioles OF Brady Anderson took steroids in 1996 which enabled him to hit 50 home runs. Anderson's previous best was 21 homers in 1992 and his subsequent best was 24 in 1999. He hit 16 and 18 the seasons before and after he hit his 50. "I like Brady, and it doesn't mean he's a bad guy because he took steroids," Palmer said. "But I'm sure he wanted to enhance his performance. I don't know if Brady took steroids. How would I know? But he did go from [16] home runs to 50. I don't know how he hit 29 more homers that year and he hit 31 more on the road that year, so it's not like he took advantage of Camden Yards."

The Sports Network reports New York Yankees 2B Alfonso Soriano broke former Orioles OF Brady Anderson's record of 12 homers to lead off a game set in 1996, when he led off the game Monday, Sept. 22, with his 13th leadoff homer.

The AP reports 39-year-old OF Brady Anderson was assigned to Triple-A Portland by the San Diego Padres on Thursday. Anderson accepted the assignment and stated he understood the situation, in which the Padres chose to carry only five outfielders on the roster.
