Some of Vizcaino's duties will entail serving as an on-field instructor during spring training, as well as instructing players at the Dodgers' academy in the Dominican Republic, Campo Las Palmas.

Vizcaino, who was designated for assignment by the Giants last week, will join the team in New York and will likely fill in for SS David Eckstein (oblique), who is set to go on the disabled list Wednesday. Vizcaino hit .210 in 64 games with the Giants this season.
