Phillies | Jimmy Rollins agrees to three-year deal

Sat, 17 Dec 2011 11:02:50 -0800

The Philadelphia Phillies have agreed to terms with free-agent SS Jimmy Rollins (Phillies) on a three-year contract, with a vesting option for a fourth year, according to a baseball source.

Fantasy Tip: Sticking in this lineup and home park solidifies Rollins' fantasy value. Though his batting average probably won't be much higher than .270 and he carries some downside at age 33, his combination of power and speed delivers top-five (or higher) potential at the position that you could grab at a cheaper price depending on the room. His stable floor beats the risk-reward of similar options.
