The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's Joe Rutter, updating a previous item, reports 2B Rob Mackowiak, P Jeff D'Amico and pitching coach Spin Williams were stricken with a virus that circulated throughout the clubhouse. All three had to miss Tuesday's game. Mackowiak was replaced by Jeff Reboulet; Pat Mahomes made a spot start for D'Amico.

Paul Meyer of The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports the Pittsburgh Pirates have recalled infielder Jeff Reboulet from Triple-A Nashville. Reboulet will be the primary backup for second baseman Abraham Nunez, who will be the regular while Pokey Reese (thumb) is on the disabled list.

USATODAY.com reports the Pittsburgh Pirates purchased IF Jeff Reboulet's contract from AAA Nashville, of the Pacific Coast League, on Thursday, May 15th.
