The Pittsburgh Pirates have agreed to a minor league deal with IF Jose Hernandez, according to the Associated Press. He will join Triple-A Indianapolis in the next few days.

Ken Mandel, of Phillies.MLB.com, reports the Philadelphia Phillies will have some tough decisions to make regarding any upcoming free agents currently with the team. The Phillies have nine free agents, which include RP Rick White, SP Randy Wolf, RP Arthur Rhodes, C Mike Lieberthal, RP Julio Santana, SS Jose Hernandez, SP Jamie Moyer, OF David Dellucci and P Aaron Fultz.

Phillies.MLB.com's Ken Mandel reports Philadelphia Phillies IF Jose Hernandez could take away some playing time at third base from IF Abraham O. Nunez, according to Phillies manager Charlie Manuel. Nunez has been slumping at the plate but Manuel still likes his defense at the hot corner.

Philadelphia.Phillies.MLB.com reports the Philadelphia Phillies recalled OF Michael Bourn from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre but optioned him back following the Aug. 22 game against the Chicago Cubs. Bourn's plane had already been in the air before the Phillies traded for IF Jose Hernandez.
