Cincinnati Reds 3B Scott Rolen (shoulder) is improving and is to the point where he wants to resume hitting, but he doesn't have an immediate timetable for when he might do that. The team doesn't want him to rush back.

Updating previous reports, there appears to be no timetable for the return of Cincinnati Reds 3B Scott Rolen (shoulder), according to manager Dusty Baker and others around the team.

The Cincinnati Reds placed 3B Scott Rolen (shoulder) on the 15-day disabled list Saturday, May 12, due to a strained left shoulder. He was hitting just .174 with two homers and 11 RBIs. "I don't see this as a real long-term thing," Rolen said. "It's not a surgical procedure or anything that we're going down that road again."

Cincinnati Reds OF Jay Bruce and 3B Scott Rolen both hit home runs in a losing effort Thursday, April 26. Rolen has two home runs on the season with both coming in the last two days. Bruce now has four homers on the year, and he went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs.

Cincinnati Reds 3B Scott Rolen's homer leading off the seventh inning sparked a four-run rally that lifted the Reds to a 4-2 win over the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday, April 25. Rolen's first homer of the season knocked Giants SP Barry Zito out of the game and the Reds took the lead against RP Clay Hensley and RP Jeremy Affeldt.
