Brewers | Aramis Ramirez expects to play Sunday

Sat, 02 May 2015 12:36:53 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez (hamstring) was out of the starting lineup for the second consecutive game because of tightness in his left hamstring Saturday, May 2. He expects to return to the lineup against the Chicago Cubs Sunday, May 3.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is off to a slow start offensively, with only two homers and seven RBIs through his first 20 games. He can be avoided in FantasyScore for the time being, with other third basemen who are available for a similar price outperforming him.

Brewers | Aramis Ramirez scratched Friday

Fri, 01 May 2015 09:17:02 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez (hamstring) was a late scratch from the lineup Friday, May 1, with left hamstring tightness.

Fantasy Tip: A-Ram could just need a day or two. Keep an eye out for an update. Luis Jimenez ($1,600, 3.2% of your cap) is in his place, but he's just 1-for-13 to start the season. Steer clear on FantasyScore.

Brewers | Aramis Ramirez hits Cincy ace again

Tue, 28 Apr 2015 18:43:05 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez posted a solo homer in two official at-bats Tuesday, April 28, against the Cincinnati Reds.

Fantasy Tip: A-Ram's stat line is not exactly notable, but it came against Johnny Cueto. Not many players own Cueto, but Ramirez entered the game hitting .354 (17-for-48) with four doubles, five homers, 11 RBIs and a 1.206 OPS against the Cincinnati ace and he added to those amazing numbers with a solo blast in the fifth. FantasyScore owners shouldn't shy away from Ramirez ($3,500; 7.0% of cap) next time Cueto and the Reds show up on the schedule.

Brewers | Aramis Ramirez sitting out

Sun, 26 Apr 2015 09:25:02 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez is not in the starting lineup Sunday, April 26.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has struggled early this season and is receiving a day off. Hector Gomez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) will start at third base Sunday and is not a great option for FantasyScore owners.

Brewers | Aramis Ramirez resting Tuesday

Tue, 21 Apr 2015 16:26:05 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez will sit out Tuesday, April 21, against the Cincinnati Reds. 3B Jason Rogers will serve as Ramirez's replacement.

Fantasy Tip: Rogers is not an option on FantasyScore and for good reason. Owners will need to look outside of Milwaukee for their third baseman Tuesday.

Sun, 19 Apr 2015 09:26:05 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez is not in the starting lineup Sunday, April 19.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) should return to the lineup for the team's next game. Luis Jimenez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) will take over has the starting third baseman for the game but should not be a starting option on FantasyScore.

Brewers | Aramis Ramirez to discuss playing time

Mon, 30 Mar 2015 04:37:46 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez will meet with the team this week to determine how often he will be used this season. Ramirez will get at least one off day a week and possibly more time off based on the schedule, but it will also depend on how good he feels and how hot his bat is.

Fantasy Tip: The club wants to avoid leg injuries reoccurring like last year, but as long as you select Ramirez on the cheap in lower rounds of drafts you won't be wasting a pick. He still has a little bit left in the tank.

Brewers | Luis Jimenez to get crack at third

Mon, 09 Mar 2015 01:52:26 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Luis Jimenez will get first crack at the third-base job as backup to 3B Aramis Ramirez. Ramirez is in his final season with the Brewers.

Fantasy Tip: This is vital for the Brewers because Jimenez's fantasy value ties in to Ramirez's overall health. If you draft Ramirez in your leagues in a late round, you may want to grab Jimenez as a "handcuff" pick if he makes the club and is used at third.

Brewers | Aramis Ramirez to see more time off?

Fri, 27 Feb 2015 09:37:11 -0800

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez, who will likely play his final season in 2015, could be given more time off this year, according to manager Ron Roenicke. Ramirez said he's hoping to play between 140 and 145 games this season. Ramirez is a career .285 hitter with 369 home runs, 1,342 RBI and an OPS of .840.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez, 36, has had plenty of big seasons in the past. The problem is he's failed to reach the 20-homer mark each of the last two seasons while dealing with leg issues. Don't expect him to return to 20 dingers in 2015, but you can buy low on him in the later rounds and have some room for a profit.

Brewers | Aramis Ramirez having his swan song

Fri, 27 Feb 2015 07:56:08 -0800

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez announced 2015 will likely be his final season.

Fantasy Tip: A-Ram has been dogged by injuries the last two seasons as he has averaged 13.5 homers and 57.5 RBIs. At this stage, he's a low-end third baseman or corner infielder with minimal upside in his age-37 season.
