Philadelphia Phillies 3B Placido Polanco (hernia) said he is feeling great and expects to be 100 percent healthy for spring training. OF Hunter Pence (hernia), who also underwent offseason hernia surgery, is also expected to be ready for spring training.

Updating previous reports, the Philadelphia Phillies are interested in trading 3B Placido Polanco, but only if they cannot re-sign SS Jimmy Rollins, according to sources. A team executive said that Polanco is "not going anywhere." The Phillies are not willing to eat the rest of Polanco's contract, which could be a sticking point with teams that are interested.

Philadelphia Phillies 3B Placido Polanco (hernia) has resumed running after his double hernia surgery in October, and the team doesn't feel the need to acquire depth at third base for next season. "Polly is our third baseman," general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said. "I'm looking forward to him being healthy. If he's healthy, he's exactly what we're trying to have as far as our offense is concerned. If he's healthy, he's our best hitter."
