The Fort Worth Star-Telegram's T.R. Sullivan reports the Texas Rangers will not activate 3B Herbert Perry (knee) Wednesday, Sept. 1, as originally thought. The original plan was to activate Perry but the Rangers are considering giving him more time at Double-A Frisco to get his swing down. "Herb will be here when he's ready," Rangers MAN Buck Showalter said.

Updating previous items, the Associated Press reports Texas Rangers IF Herbert Perry (knee) will begin a rehabilitation assignment with Double-A Frisco Monday, Aug. 30. He's expected to be activated on Sept. 1 when rosters expand to 40 players.

Robert Falkoff, of Rangers.MLB.com, reports Texas Rangers 3B Herbert Perry (knee) is improving and is close to being ready for a minor-league rehab assignment, according manager Buck Showalter. He will either be sent to Triple-A Oklahoma or Double-A Frisco.

The Dallas Morning News reports Texas Rangers IF Herbert Perry (knee) acknowledged his right knee will need the same kind of surgical repair he had on his left knee last year. Perry has not been approached about going on the disabled list, but he admitted he has thought he might be released.
