Atlanta Braves OF Eric Hinske went 4-for-6 with a double, home run and three RBIs against the Colorado Rockies Friday, May 4. He was a last-minute addition to the lineup because 3B/OF Martin Prado (illness) was sick.

Atlanta Braves OF Jason Heyward (oblique) is out of the lineup Monday, April 30, due to soreness in his right oblique. Heyward doesn't think it's serious and doesn't expect to miss more than a day or two. OF Eric Hinske is starting in right field in his place.

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman, who is 2-for-21 with 10 strikeouts in his last five games, is taking the day off Monday, April 16. OF Eric Hinske is starting in his place. Freeman is also 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position early on.

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman (knee) could be out for the next two weeks while resting a right knee injury that he suffered Tuesday, Feb. 28. His knee popped out of place while trying to pick a ball out of the dirt at first base. "I was just doing pick drills and the knee gave out," Freeman said. "The kneecap went this way and I came back in. When I did this when I was playing in Triple-A, it took me two weeks. So that is what we are going on." Freeman is confident that he will be fine after two weeks. INFs Eric Hinske and Ernesto Mejia will see more time in early exhibition games at first base.

Atlanta Braves OF Eric Hinske and C Brian McCann each launched their eighth homers of the season in a win Saturday, June 11, against the Houston Astros. McCann's homer came in the top of the 10th inning off RP Brandon Lyon, pushing the Braves ahead for good. He picked up career RBIs No. 499, 500 and 501 in the process.

New York Mets RP Francisco Rodriguez allowed three runs in the ninth inning Friday, June 3, against the Atlanta Braves, including a go-ahead home run by OF Eric Hinske. It was the second loss of the season for Rodriguez. "We're not getting it done. I'm not getting it done," Rodriguez said. "That's the bottom line." He has given up four runs in his past two appearances.
